Summer happenings...
This summer went by so quickly, the kids had a few less weeks off due to the resetting of school schedules with the district. Besides the usual lazy days at the pool and a few trips to the beach, we also spent a week this summer visiting Kevin's brother Sean and his sweet family in Hanford, Ca. While we were there they introduced us to water kickball, floating the river, and Yosemite falls. Sadly Kevin injured his shoulder on our 2nd day there while trying to catch a fly ball during the water kickball game. It was a pretty severe injury and ended up having to wear a sling for 2 weeks and then limited lifting for another 8 weeks! He still managed to make the most of it and enjoyed the rest of the week : ) Since Kevin couldn't really swim, the boys and I floated the river while Kevin stayed and played at the end point of the river with Emily. The water was cold, but with it being run off from the Sierras what do you expect. It helped that it was about 100 degrees out : ) The boys had a blast floating and swimming in the river with their cousin's! It took about 3 hours total to float an almost 3 mile stretch of the Kern river, so by the time we met up with Kevin, Emily and the rest of the family we were a bit water worn from a fun day! We also went up to Yosemite Falls to see the breath taking views and enjoy a day at the National Park. The waterfall was breath taking and the air was so clean and cool. We truly enjoyed every minute there, and we'll definitely be going back soon to camp or stay at the village.

Father's day camping
We did our annual father's day camp out this year and this time we got all of Kevin's brother's and families to join us as well. It was so fun to see all the kids running around and just having a good time. We did a light hike over to the creek and played a huge game of kickball! These are the times I wish would never end, it was a blast!

Carl had his 5th grade promotion today. It was a beautiful day and the clouds cleared up just in time for the ceremony. He said he will miss elementary school, but is looking forward to his new adventures in middle school! Fortunately most of his freinds will be going to Margarita middle school as well. He is also looking forward to a fun summer break before he starts his new adventure : )

Open House
The boys were all eager to show us all the great things they have been working on over the past school year, and Carl's class was doing a live museum on the revolutionary period. Carl chose to do George Washington. The boys have been having a great year and Carl is especially excited because this is his last open house in elementary school. I cannot believe how this year has just flown by. Here are a few pics from the night.
